North Catasauqua: Electronics recycling is offered Saturday
Saturday is North Catasauqua’s electronic recycling day. From 9 a.m. to noon, borough residents may drop off old computers and accessories, electronics and appliances at the borough complex on Main Street for proper disposal. Also collected will be audio-visual equipment, phones, DVD players, VCRs, gaming systems, stereos and speakers. Residents have received information from the borough about items to recycle at no cost and those which will require payment of a fee.

Porter Lodge, 1103 Sixth St., will open the doors and kitchen 1 p.m. Oct. 30 and begin calling bingo games with cash prizes 3 p.m. The kitchen will feature Grumpy’s Road House pulled pork and other goodies.
Activities will include small games of chance as well as a Chinese auction. Regular bingo games will pay $50, and there will be three specials for $75. Last year’s coverall final game awarded a prize of $211 to one winner.
Money raised goes toward our fraternal and charitable programs.

The homemade holiday sale is scheduled for 9 a.m.-8 p.m. Nov. 10-11 and 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Nov. 12. Proceeds benefit Mrs. Nothstein’s Helping Hands Fund.
The fundraiser features hundreds of handmade items and gifts and favorite homemade foods and baked goods.
Hosted by the friends and family of the late Mrs. Nothstein, it will be held in social hall at St. John Fisher Church, 1239 Third St.
Trick-or-treat night in North Catasauqua will be 6-8 p.m. Oct. 29. Don’t forget to turn on your porch light, so trick-or-treaters will visit your home for treats.
Rain date will be Oct. 30.

The North Catasauqua Betterment Committee would like to thank everyone who helped make the 10th annual Best of North Catasauqua Autumnfest a success. Thank you to all the businesses who sponsored the activities, halupki contest and band, as well as the businesses who donated prizes for the raffle, the borough public works, police and fire departments, borough organizations and office staff for their assistance. Many volunteers donated time to help the event run smoothly. Thanks to the community for attending.
