MARCH 1

State police are investigating a report of unsworn falsification to authorities between March 1 and March 3.

According to the report, Linda Rose Gouse, 31, of Bath, reported that a 31-year-old Orefield man violated the conditions of an active protection-from-abuse order. A written statement of that claim was filed, along with a corroborating statement by an 11-year-old child, also of Bath.

An investigation determined a violation did not occur, police said.

Gouse then claimed the man called her and violated the PFA again. However, at that time, the man was under supervision by police, sitting in the lobby of the barracks without a cellphone. Gouse was subsequently arrested.

Further investigation by police revealed Gouse threated the 11-year-old into making the corroborating statement to law enforcement.
