University of Pennsylvania architecture professor Frank Matero will address borough officials on restoring the Coplay cement kilns at 11 a.m., June 17 in council chambers.

Rick Molchany, Lehigh County director of general services, said Matero was invited to the informal session by Spillman Farmer Architects, Bethlehem. Spillman has compiled a 50-page report regarding the possibility of restoring the kilns.

Coplay American Legion Post 426 has sent out a reminder that Sunday, June 14, is Flag Day.

The Legion asks residents to display the American flag at their homes. The borough American flags are flown on poles along Chestnut and Second streets.

Coplay Town Watch will hold its bike derby for children ages 2 to 14 this Saturday at St. Peter's Roman Catholic Church, Fifth Street.

A bike helmet will be presented to each child participating. Other prizes will be awarded.

For those who want to mix physical fitness with music and fun, there will be aqua zumba classes at the Parkway Pool each Monday evening beginning June 22 at 6:30 p.m., as well as every other Friday.

The Coplay Athletic Club will suspend its monthly meetings in July and August. The club will resume meetings in September on the third Tuesday of the month at 6:30.p.m.
