Moore Township Column

The Moore Township Historical Commission is looking for information and pictures that might help group members construct a history of Moore Township.

They are accepting donations of photos, letters, family histories, documents and artifacts. Copies of treasured photos and documents are acceptable.

These donations can be left with Dick Gable at the township municipal building, located at 2491 Community Drive.

The Moore Township Environmental Action Committee will be holding an electronic recycling event at Moore Township Elementary School on May 9 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The school is located at 2835 Mountain View Drive. Covenant United Methodist Church, located at 2715 Mountain View Drive, is holding a mother-daughter banquet on Wednesday, May 6 at 6:30 p.m.

Moorestown Garden Club will have its next meeting on Tuesday, May 5 at 7 p.m. The club meets at Salem United Church of Christ, 2218 Community Drive.

The Moore Township Athletic Association spring baseball and softball teams will mark opening day on April 25. The activities begin at 10 a.m. and will be held at Zartler field at the Moore Township Recreation Center, located off English Road in Moore Township.

There will be scrimmage games, a basket social, 50/50 drawing and apparel sales during the day. The rain date is May 2.

Picture day will be May 9 starting at 9 a.m.

Little Moore United Church of Christ, located at 913 South Mink Road, Danielsville, is having its annual basket social on Friday, May 1. Doors open at 4 p.m., and the drawing begins at 8 p.m.

Featured in the drawing will be themed baskets, gift cards to area restaurants and stores and more!

The kitchen will be open.
