A real work of art for LV Charter School

PRESS PHOTO BY PAUL WILLISTEIN

A 250-foot construction crane is seen towering over south side Bethlehem. The 900,000-pound crane, transported in 15 trailers, was set up Nov. 7 at the Third and Polk streets, Bethlehem, construction site for $26-million project that will become the new Lehigh Valley Charter High School for the Arts. The construction crew uses the crane to place precast concrete, including support beams and walls, for the school, which is in the vicinity of Steel Ice Center and ArtsQuest Center, SteelStacks. Bucks Development & Constructing Corp. is general contractor for the project. The school, now located along East Broad Street near Stefko Boulevard, Bethlehem, is to open its new facility for the 2015-'16 school year.
