The Lehigh Valley International Airport hosted its second consecutive air show Aug. 23 and 24. Despite gray skies and a couple periods of light drizzle on the first day, all flight demonstrations went off without a hitch and many static ground displays proved to be popular with those in attendance. Sunshine and blue skies returned on Sunday drawing an even larger audience. Of particular interest at the 2014 Air Show was an appearance by the only privately owned Sea Harrier in the world, which was piloted by former U.S. Marine Corps pilot Art Nalls. Many of the 2013 acts returned for an encore performance. The 2014 Air Show included more parking and improved traffic access, increased spectator viewing areas, as well as additional food and beverage vendors. Among many participants in the event were the Misty Blues all Women Skydiving Team, Black Diamond Jet Team, 4CE Aerobatic Team, Gene Soucy and Teresa Stokes aerobatic and wing-walking act, Canadian Harvard Aerobatic Team, Trojan Horsemen T-28 Demo Team, Panchito B-25 World War II bomber, a NASA Exhibit, the Blake Space Shuttle, and Bethlehem native and Freedom HS graduate Stephen Fiegel flying an SNJ-5 World War II trainer.
