Solt earns Eagle Scout badge

On Dec. 20, 2013, Anthony Pastor Solt successfully passed his Eagle Scout board of review earning the rank of Eagle Scout.

Solt is a member of Troop 74 chartered by The Cathedral Church of St. Catharine of Siena, Allentown, in the Trexler District of the Minsi Trails Council, Boy Scouts of America.

For his project, Solt constructed and installed four mahogany 36-inch by 48-inch enclosed bulletin board showcases with sliding glass doors and purchased and installed one 24-inch by 36-inch enclosed weatherproof bulletin board for The Cathedral Church of St. Catharine of Siena.

Solt has been involved in Scouting for more than 12 years.

As a Cub Scout, he earned the Arrow of Light Award, Light of Christ, Parvuli Dei and International Awareness Religious Awards with Pack 74.

In the Boy Scout program with Troop 74, he earned 37 merit badges, camped out more than 84 nights, hiked over 104 miles, biked 30 miles, paddled 20 miles and attended National Youth Leadership Training.

Solt is a senior at Central Catholic High School, where he is president of the Science Olympiad Club and a member of the National Honor Society.

He will be attending Boston University in the fall majoring in biomedical engineering.

Solt is a member of The Cathedral Church of St. Catharine of Siena and four-year member of the Bishops Ceremonies team.

On March 22, a Court of Honor was held for Solt at The Cathedral Church of St. Catharine of Siena, where he was presented with his Eagle Scout medal and a celebration of his Scouting career.

Solt is continuing his Scouting career as an Assistant Scoutmaster for Troop 74.

He is the son of Lee and Betsy Solt of South Whitehall Township.

His grandparents are John and Elizabeth Pastor of Salisbury Township.
