Republican Rodney K. Schlauch Jr. will soon be sitting on the dais at the Heidelberg Township Building as the new supervisor.
According to Lehigh County Voter Registration Office numbers, Schlauch garnered an unofficial 370 votes, 61 percent of the total 604 cast, in the Municipal Election Tuesday to beat Democrat Charles P. Perich 370-234 for a six-year term on the board.
During the campaign Schlauch said he was in favor of preserving open spaces and farmland and spend tax money responsibly. He also said he would support local businesses and encourage new businesses.
