The Northampton girls cross country team beat both Liberty (25-32) and Freedom (29-29, won tie breaker) to improve its record to 6-2 on the season.
Hayley Jackson was third overall in a great time of 19:49. Lyndsey Gallagher ran a tough race to finished sixth overall and Jessica Hendricks finished seventh overall. The Northampton top-five were rounded out with Tatiana Lopez (12th) and Tyleen Lopez (13th).
Kim Larena ran her personal best time ever in 22:05; likewise for Charlie Amore (22:17) and Jasmine Kraftician (22:20).
"It was great to see our six, seven and eight girls run so well," said head coach Dan Benner. "Next week the team should see a boost with the return from injury of Joelle Perelli."
On the boys side, they unfortunately lost to both Liberty and a powerhouse team in Freedom.
There were however, many personal best times. Chris Traugher (16:59), Kendrick Schell (17:50), Justin Nikles (18:28), Lucas Yost (18:37), Andrew Martuscelli (19:00), Jon Stevens (19:13) and the top-seven was rounded out with Noah Durnin (19:25). All seven runners had personal best times.
Next week the team wraps up out LVC regular season schedule on Tuesday, Oct. 1, against Easton, Becahi, and Nazareth.
The team also hosts the Northampton Invitational on Saturday, Oct. 5. There will be 21 teams competing that day.
