In celebration of Farmers Market Days in the borough, Simcoe Gallery is sponsoring Paint Outside the Market Basket.

Artists are welcome to pick up a basket during market hours, 3-7 p.m., beginning Sept. 10, at The Lyric Commons, 2015 Main St. Baskets are available on a first-come basis, and the painted baskets are due Oct. 8 by 7 p.m.

Three prizes will be awarded at a reception on Oct. 15, 6 p.m.

Northampton's Sister Cities celebration will be held 1-5 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 7, at Municipal Park, Smith Lane and Laubach Avenue. In the event of rain, it will take place at the borough fire station, 4 Lerchenmiller Drive.

Admission and parking are free.

Ethnic foods and beverages will be available for purchase.

The Walt Groller Orchestra will entertain.

Proceeds benefit the fire department.

The Atlas Cement Company Memorial Museum, 1401 Laubach Ave., is open to the public on the second and fourth Sundays of each month through September.

Hours are 1-3 p.m.

The St. John's Friendly Fifties group will hold its 22nd anniversary meeting 1 p.m. Monday, Sept. 9, in the St. John's social hall, 1343 Newport Ave.

The rosary will be prayed at 11:30 a.m. in the church.

Lunch will follow in the social hall. Mike Skweir will provide the music for this anniversary event.

Assumption BVM Church will hold its annual picnic Sunday, Sept. 8, at Egypt Memorial Park.

The event begins with a Mass at 11 a.m., then continues with music, games and food until 7 p.m. The Emil Schanta Band will perform at 3 p.m. and 7 p.m.

A basket bingo/Chinese auction, featuring Vera Bradley and Coach purses, will be held 1 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 22, at Tri-Boro Sportsmen Club.

Tickets are discounted if purchased before the event.
