The Siegfried Railroad Station, home of the Northampton Area Historical Society, will hold a special garage sale 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 24, at the station, located on 21st Street.
Most of the items for sale will be railroad memorabilia – postcards, books, photographs, pamphlets, etc.
Information on other modes of transportation and miscellaneous items will also be available.
Food will be available for purchase.

Assumption BVM Church will hold its annual picnic Sunday, Sept. 8, at Egypt Memorial Park.
The event begins with a Mass at 11 a.m., then continues with music, games and food until 7 p.m. The Emil Schanta Band will perform at 3 and 7 p.m.
The church will also take part in Celebrity Scoop Night Friday, Aug. 23, 6-9 p.m., at Rita's, 3219 Cherryville Road.
A portion of the proceeds go to the church.

The Friends of the Northampton Area Public Library group is sponsoring a chartered bus trip to the Civil War Museum, Harrisburg, and the 13th Annual Civil War Reenactment Train Ride, Middletown, Saturday, Sept. 21.
The bus will depart promptly at 8 a.m. from the Northampton Recreation Center, 1 Lerchenmiller Drive, and will arrive back at approximately 7 p.m.
This trip is open to everyone who would like to come, not just library patrons.
Deadline to purchase tickets is Thursday, Aug. 29.

The Northampton Fellowship Committee has a chartered bus trip planned for Saturday, Oct. 5, to Sights and Sounds to see "Noah." A smorgasbord meal at Yoders will follow.
The bus will leave the parking lot behind Zion church at 10:15 a.m. The show will begin at 1 p.m., followed by the meal at 4:30 p.m. Attendees will arrive back in the borough at about 8 p.m.
The cost of a ticket covers the entire trip.

The Northampton Memorial Community Center, 16th Street and Laubach Avenue, hosts bingo every Monday night. Doors open at 5:30 p.m., and the games begin at 7 p.m.
The kitchen is open.
Proceeds benefit the Northampton Recreation Center.
