The North Catasauqua Betterment Committee is hosting a free Summer Car Cruise on Thursday, Aug. 1. Music, food, door prizes and a 50/50 drawing will be featured along with classic and antique cars on display at the North Catasauqua Park from 5:30-8:30 p.m.

The Catasauqua Community Thrift Shop, 113 Bridge St., Catasauqua, will have a half-price sale Aug. 5-17. The shop will close for housecleaning and changeover the week of Aug. 19 and will reopen Aug. 26 with new clothing for fall and winter.

Proceeds from the thrift shop are returned to the community through contributions that support youth and adult programs and services. Donations of good used clean clothing are accepted during store operation hours,10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays and 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Wednesdays and Saturdays.
