Bethlehem Bicycle Cooperative, the bicycling education hub of CAR-FREE CAT-Coalition for Appropriate Transport held a bike education day at Calypso Elementary School on May 25. Students and their families were able to enjoy helmet/bike fittings, mechanical checks and a basic skills obstacle course to test students' awareness and bike handling skills.
The Bethlehem Bicycle Cooperative (BBC) is the bicycle education component of CAR-FREE CAT that is located in Bethlehem, and serves as a model to all Lehigh Valley communities that bicycle transportation should be supported for its benefits to health, environment and community.
CAR-FREE CAT is a registered non-profit organization as well as an educational charity encouraging car free activity.
CAR-FREE CAT is active with local municipalities across the Lehigh Valley and the state of Pennsylvania to advocate on bicycle, pedestrian and public transit issues. CAT promotes facilities and services that are the most environmentally and socially appropriate for public utilization.
