The Northampton Area Public Library, in partnership with RBdigital from Recorded Books, is pleased to announce the availability of IndieFlix for Libraries, a premier online streaming service provider of award-winning independent films, shorts and documentaries from around the world.

Through www. northamptonapl.org, library patrons have unlimited access to thousands of streaming film festival hits, including the best of Sundance, Cannes, Tribeca and more. IndieFlix is available on Apple, Android and all Internet-enabled devices. Patrons can also watch films on TV with their Roku devices.

Anyone with a library card and an Internet connection can now access these films.

For more information on how to access this service, ask any library staff member or visit the website.

The library is also launching a Teen Summer Literacy Challenge with weekly prizes and programs.

This program is free and open to all teens ages 12-18. It is made possible in part by a grant from the Dollar General Literacy Foundation.

Teens can earn prizes by testing their limits; the grand prize is a Kindle Fire. The challenge begins July 2 and ends Aug. 8. It consists of three parts: the literacy log, the book discussions and the weekly programs. Participants can choose which discussions or events to attend, all or some.

The book discussions will be held Mondays at 1 p.m. and the programs are Thursdays at 2 p.m. The library provides the books, and the teens provide their point of view.

For details, visit the library's website (listed above) or call 610-262-7537.
