Coplay is displaying its patriotism with American flags flying on utility poles on Second and Chestnut streets.
The borough was able to purchase the flags thanks to residents and their donations to the Restore the Flags Committee.
The flags will remain on the poles for Flag Day, June 14, and the Independence Day holiday, July 4.

A footnote from the borough's primary election: the percentage of registered voters from Coplay who came out to vote is one of the highest in Lehigh County.
With a spirited contested race for mayor and four council seats, coupled with the library referendum question, voter turnout was about 33 percent.
Turnout is generally lower for a primary than for a general election. However, with almost all the candidates being Democrats, most of Coplay's races were decided in the primary.
