Claussville Garden Club President Julie Fenstermaker announced at the group's April 1 meeting it would be her last night as president.
"But since it is April Fool's Day, I call this meeting to order," she said
Everyone laughed as she continued leading the meeting.
Fenstermaker introduced Chaplain Mary Ann Hrabovsky, who presented a devotional prayer, "Oh, What a Beautiful Morning."

Winners were: first place, Brenda Hartman, 329 points; second place, Karin Lilly, 193 points; and third place, Carol Reinert, 170 points.
Fenstermaker then introduced the speaker for the evening, Master Gardener Fred Buse, who said his PowerPoint presentation was on, "A Day in Spring - Setting the Stage for Spring."
"There are 10 bird houses in my backyard," Buse said.
He said he keeps track of the kinds of birds visiting his backyard. In1980, he counted five species of birds. In 1990, he counted 20 species; in 2000, he counted 30 to 40 species and in 2010, he counted 45 to 50 species.
Buse feeds the birds sunflower, safflower, millet, cracked corn and peanuts. His main bird feeder has a transmitter, so he can hear bird sounds in his house.
