WEYC No. 1 10,

Grandlawn Biddy No. 2 5

Grandlawn Biddy No. 2 opened its season on Saturday, April 24 in a Parkland Youth League match up with WEYC No. 1. WEYC came out on top by a score of 10-5.

Connor Neith lead the offense for Grandlawn, going 3-for-3 with a home run and two runs scored. Tyler Fontanez added a triple, two RBIs and a run scored. Neith also pitched three innings, recording eight strike outs.

WEYC scored eight runs in the second inning as Grandlawn pitchers served up eight walks in the inning. Add a Caleb Rorrer grand slam and that set the tone for outcome of the game.

ULMK League Majors

Grandlawn 11, Lower Mac. Rivercats 4

For the first time in many years, Grandlawn Baseball is proud to have a Majors (16 -18 year old) team in the Upper-Lower Macungie Baseball League. The team has a great mix of young men, including some who started more than 10 years ago with Grandlawn and some who have played elsewhere and are new to Grandlawn.

The team played its first game Friday, April 26 at Covered Bridge Park against the Lower Macungie Rivercats. Grandlawn won the game 11-4

Playing small ball in the bottom of the first with runners on first and second, Gannon Venable laid down a perfect bunt to move the runners over. Alex Neith belted a single to drive in two runs. An eight-run fourth inning included RBI doubles from Tyler Martin and Christian Holzapple.

Solid defense and pitching were also key with the Grandlawn pitching staff racking up 11 strikeouts.

ULMK League AA

National League

SPYA Dominators 14, UMYA Blue Devils 2

The SPYA Dominators improved to 2-1 on the season with a 14-2 victory over the Upper Milford Blue Devils. Mason Frame and Sheldon Graeff led the offensive attack for the Dominators. Frame was 2-for-3 with four RBIs and two runs scored. Graeff was 2-for-6 with a three-run home run and five RBI's. Trent Perkins and Tanner Lewis contributed five and four hits, respectively to the Dominator attack. Five Dominators pitchers (Ryan Hoffman, Ryan Zolotsky, Bryan Bertsch, George Hlavac, and Nick Johnston) combined to limit the Blue Devils to only three hits for the game.
