One of the most well attended events for children in Coplay – and certainly one of the shortest – will occur Saturday when the Coplay Recreation and Welfare Association hosts its annual community egg hunt.
The event, held on the grounds of St. Peter's Catholic Church between Coplay and Center streets, starts at 1 p.m. and lasts only a few minutes.
Children up to age 10 will be divided into the various age groups. Eggs will be filled with jelly beans and prize eggs will be available to participants in each age group. All participants will receive chocolate bunnies and Marshmallow Peeps.
The Easter Bunny will be present and parents are reminded to bring cameras to take photos.

With the starting and finishing line in the Coplay part of the IRT, the borough parkway and pavilion served as the central site for the events. The commission received recognition for the splendid condition of the trail, the parkway and pavilion.
A couple 5K races and a 7K race are on the docket in May; both will utilize the parkway and pavilion.
