Parkland Community Library will be hosting speaker Susan McLellan Plaisted, who will be presenting "Chocolate: The Pennsylvania Connection" 6:30 p.m. March 7 in the Jordan Lutheran Church family venter, Orefield. The aroma of Chocolate will waft in the air as this presentation connects the cultural use of chocolate from Meso-America to Europe and back to Colonial America and Pennsylvania.

Learn the basics of cacao cultivation, harvesting and fermentation. Examine Mayan, Aztec and European artifacts to compare and contrast chocolate in different societies and explore the place of chocolate in Pennsylvania.

Participants will have the opportunity to grate "chocolate cakes" and make a sample historic chocolate beverage.

Orefield Middle School's spring musical "Grease" 7 p.m. March 5 and 6 and 2 p.m. and at 7 p.m. March 9 in the middle school auditiorium.

Springhouse Middle School will be presenting "Once Upon a Mattress," 7 p.m. March 6 and 7 ,and 2 p.m. March 10 in the auditorium.

Springhouse Middle School will also be having an art show at the school 6 p.m. March 7.
