A North Whitehall man was killed when the 2010 International propane truck he was driving overturned in Lynn Township.

According to State Police Troop M Fogels-ville, the crash occurred at approximately 1:17 p.m. Feb. 22 in front of 8401 Gun Club Road, Lynn Township.

The office of Lehigh County Coroner Scott Grim says Brian Barto, 47, of Schnecksville, was pronounced dead at the scene at 2:35 p.m. by Deputy Coroner Jason Nicholas.

Barto's cause of death is attributed to blunt force chest trauma. The coroner ruled his manner of death as an accident.

State police say Barto was southbound on Gun Club Road, negotiating a left curve in the road, when for unknown reasons the truck traveled into the northbound lane, returned to the southbound lane and the passenger side of the truck struck an embankment of the western berm.

The truck, which rotated clockwise and entered the northbound lane, overturned onto the driver's side while traveling in a southernly direction for 50 feet and hitting a tree, where it came to a final rest.
