Christ's Church at Lowhill, 4965 Lowhill Church Road, New Tripoli, is having its first penny party of the year Oct. 19.

Doors open at 6 p.m. Passing of trays begins at 7 p.m. Bring your pennies, family and appetite.

Christ's Church at Lowhill is preparing to make Christmas candy.

Order forms will be available at christschurchatlowhill.com or by signing up at the church.

The forms are due by Nov. 11. Candy making will begin Nov. 23, the day after Thanksgiving.

Members of Morgenland Church, Leather Corner Post, Orefield, will be cooking a spaghetti dinner 4-7:30 p.m. Nov. 3.

The menu includes spaghetti with homemade meatballs, salad, Italian and garlic bread, beverages and homemade desserts.

A basket raffle and pie sale will also take place.

There will be a Halloween party at Morgenland 4 p.m. Oct. 28.

Prizes will be given for the best costumes. There will be games and a hayride as well as hot dogs and hamburger barbecue.

Bring a dessert or a covered dish, if you are planning to attend.

Weekly Sunday church services begin 9 a.m. at Morgenland Church.

Communion services will be held the first Sunday of each month with alternating alter and pew communion formats.

Alter format communion will take place on the odd numbered months with Pew format communion taking place on the even numbered months. Sunday School is at 10 a.m., except when the children sing in church.

On those Sundays, classes begin after the children's message.

Bring empty aluminum cans to the old Zimmerman's Hotel at Werleys Corner and place them under the forebay of the barn.
