Get up and go! On Sept. 4, the Heidelberg Association for Retired Persons, better known as H.A.R.P., invites anyone from the community to join them on a road trip to the Palmerton Heritage Center to learn more about the history of Palmerton.

Remember, you do not have to be a Heidelberg Church member to attend.

By popular demand! Heidelberg Union Church is hosting a scrumptious ham and fresh corn pie dinner, Sept. 8. The public is invited.

In addition to ham and corn pie, the meal includes homemade breads, desserts and beverages.

All are welcome! Heidelberg Church members are busy organizing a bus trip to see a "Christmas Show" Nov. 17 at the American Music Theater in Lancaster.

Included in the cost is a fantastic family style meal at Hershey Farms, Christmas Show, bus fare and all gratuities.

Departure time is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. from Heidelberg Church.

Let the games begin! Germansville Goodwill Fire Company's 2000 Club raffle stubs with donations (where only 2,000 tickets are sold) must be turned into the fire company right away.

Beginning Aug. 31, games will begin with drawings being held every Friday night in the downstairs social hall at 8 p.m. New punch boards will be used at each weekly drawing.

In addition to free refreshments, the kitchen will be open 7-9:30 p.m., and will offer a fine selection of foods.

So come on out with your family and friends and have your supper here. After all, what could be a better place than this to meet and greet your local firefighters!

This 20-week drawing features $23,550 cash awards plus a free meal of hot roast beef with filling and vegetable during the last and final drawing, Nov. 3. Beverages are also included.

Also, at this time, a huge thank you goes out to Kevin Schaffer of I.S.S. Fuel Sales and Service, Germansville, for funding this year's tickets. Way to go, Kevin!
