An afternoon filled with fun, rubber ducks, carnival games, music, face painting, basket raffle, dunk tank and food was held at Emmaus Community Park Aug. 11 to benefit the National Multiple Sclerosis Society courtesy of Lynette Heminitz.
Heminitz, who was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 2007, said she wants to do as much as she can and raise as much money as she can while she can still walk and is still able.
"My goal was to raise $5,000 this year," Heminitz said.
In February, Heminitz held a bowl-a-thon which raised $2,000. In April, she held a walk in Sellersville which raised $1,000.
A rubber duck race was conducted along Leibert Creek at Emmaus Community Park. Participants purchased a duck which raced along the creek for the chance to win one of five prizes including a $100 Visa card, Rave passes, a Walmart gift card, a Yocco's gift certificate and a certificate for one year of goodies at Panera Bread.
"I would like to thank everyone for participating and for their support," Heminitz said. "I couldn't have done this without the support of my husband, Jason, my parents, friends and family."
