Jack is back! The towering Pumpkin King re-emerges in Lowhill Twp.

Yes, I recall that Halloween 2025 was planned to be the return of Jack, the towering Pumpkin King, but extensive restoration was required for the towering Jack to reemerge center stage along Route 100 in Lowhill Township when the creative team of Phil Rosetto and Greg Snider found themselves a bit too much under the weather forcing them to resort to a less demanding theme.

Halloween 2026 has arrived and Phil shares, “After nearly 10 years, I decided to re-introduce Disney’s “Nightmare Before Christmas” by Tim Burton’s star, Jack Skellington, and co-star Sally, with his ever-faithful dog, Zero to the roadside display.

Constructed of various attainable local elements: Jack and Sally’s heads are made of annual foam jack-o’lanterns available anywhere, carved and augmented with papier mâche` to duplicate their respective unique faces. Home Depot PVC pipes supply the body structure to both figures. “Pleather” (from the now defunked Jo-Ann’s Fabrics) dressed each in order to create the acceptable result!

It is hoped that the North Wind, which is forever our nemesis of every roadside display, is kinder to this one at this time of year. Already, arms have been dislodged, and jack-o’lanterns have been tossed, rolling down Route 100. Fortunately, all have been saved and placed back to their designated location. “

And a teaser for later next month...Greg is valiantly soldering wire breaks, replacing bulbs and replacing light strings as necessary for their beautiful “Ten Trees” driveway display which in itself is worth the time to pull out of the traffic to absorb and appreciate. I know I can’t wait for this elegant moment!
