LEHIGH VALLEY WEATHER

Downtown Bethlehem savors the season

It’s been said that autumn is a state of mind, and it was in full force with the flavor of fall at Harvest Fest 2026 Oct. 10 in Historic Downtown Bethlehem.

This year, the fest went back to its roots, bringing back the lively street fair atmosphere that has made Harvest Fest a Downtown Bethlehem tradition.

The Downtown Bethlehem Association, a council of the Bethlehem Chamber of Commerce, presented the free fall street festival featuring live music, local shopping, family-friendly activities and all the sights, sounds and flavors of the season. YMI Insurance, CHA Solution and Greenlight Networks sponsored the day.

Guests had the option of purchasing a tasting passport for the Sip andSavor Trail – a delicious combination of food samples and craft beer samples at participating stops – and the Seasonal Snack Trail – a variety of seasonal, fall-inspired food samples from participating restaurants and merchants.

Sarah Kauzmann, founder and owner of Pipit’s Bakery, a small batch bakery based in Coopersburg, was excited to participate in Harvest Fest for the first time.

“Everyone’s been super sweet,” Kauzmann said as she greeted customers with the help of her mother, Maria Kauzmann. “Some people have come back for more cookies and some remember us from other Bethlehem events.”

Pipit’s does not have a physical store, but Sarah Kauzmann has a commercial kitchen in her basement and participates in many local events, including Saucon Valley Farmers Market, Perkasie Farmers Market and events at SteelStacks and in Northampton.

“I like going to different communities,” Kauzmann, who launched Pipit’s over six years ago, said.

“I love super fun events like today, where we get to dress up like pumpkins.”

Kauzmann was already a fan of events in the Christmas City, noting, “I’ve been to tons of events in Bethlehem as a patron.”

Pipit’s tasty offerings include French macarons, cookies, brownies and sweet breads.

Participating businesses in the Seasonal Snacks Trail were Twisted Olive, SonnyMoon, Seasons Olive Oil and Vinegar Taproom, Schropp Dry Goods Shoppe, Hand Cut Crystal/Bethlehem Christmas Shoppe, Tavern at the Sun Inn, The Velvet Raven, The Melting Pot Bethlehem, Urbano Mexican Kitchen and Bar, Tapas on Main, McCarthy’s Red Stag Pub and Whiskey Bar, Lu Taqueria and Central Moravian Church.

Participating businesses in the Sip and Savor Trail were Manga Lane, Lovely by Brianna, Clusters Handcrafted Popcorn, The Gem Shop featuring Eric Leadbetter, Among Friends Salon featuring Country Club Brewing, Twisted Olive, Fegley’s Bethlehem Brew Works, Lost Tavern Brewing featuring Birriaholic, McCarthy’s Red Stag Pub and Whiskey Bar and 515 Main Sports Bar.

The soundtrack for the festive afternoon was provided by musical acts on three stages: Emma Bockrath Band; Pentley Holmes; The Lo-Fi’s; Midsummer; Pollen and Co. Spirals.
