Alburtis Borough Council approved several administrative measures during its Oct. 1 meeting, including actions related to the borough’s pension obligations, professional services contracts and the annual Alburtis parade.
Council conditionally approved a request from the Alburtis Area Community Center for this year’s parade route, pending documentation confirming the organization’s nonprofit status. The parade is scheduled for Oct. 24, with a rain date of Oct. 25. Organizers said the route will remain unchanged from last year and food trucks will be located near the social quarters.
Members also authorized the advertisement of requests for proposals for borough solicitor and engineering services.
Council approved the allocation of state pension aid and authorized the borough’s 2027 Minimum Municipal Obligation, the amount the municipality is required to budget for its pension plans in the coming year.
In other business, council received notice of a $15,867 state allocation to the borough’s Volunteer Fire Relief Association to support equipment, training, insurance and other volunteer fire service expenses.
