Community Heroes

Press photos by Tabitha SchadeResidents of all ages attend Community Heroes Day at Emmaus Public Library, where local first responders and emergency personnel met with families, answered questions and showcased the equipment they use to serve the community. The annual event featured representatives from the Emmaus Fire Department, Citizen’s Fire Company of Vera Cruz, Emmaus Ambulance Corps and Emmaus Police Department. Visitors explored fire trucks, police vehicles and ambulances, learned about emergency response careers, and had opportunities to try on firefighter gear and interact with community heroes. The event was held in the library parking lot and celebrated the contributions of local first responders while fostering community connections. ABOVE: Zionsville residents Dean and Ella said they enjoyed seeing the emergency vehicles and meeting first responders because similar community events are not often held in their hometown.
