Egypt/Cementon: Line dancing nights set for Oct. 8, 22

Join the line dancing sessions 6:30-9:30 p.m. Oct. 8 and 22 at Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 7293, 5209 Springmill Road. Learn and review basics 6:15-6:40 p.m.

Come play music bingo 6:30 p.m. Oct. 9 and 23 at the VFW.

The VFW is planning live music. The lineup will include Sons of Izzy Oct. 10, Ricky Smith and the Crush Oct. 17, Greyman Group Oct. 24 and Steel City Rewind Oct. 31. Concerts begin 7 p.m.

Rise and shine 9 a.m. Oct. 11 for the VFW’s Eagles vs. Jaguars brunch sunrise scrimmage. Breakfast and lunch items will be on the menu, and the Eagles game will be playing.

The VFW auxiliary will host Stars, Stripes and Sunday Sips 1 p.m. Oct. 18. Root for the Birds while enjoying free food, a 50/50 raffle and “Pull Tab Frenzy.”

An introduction to fly fishing course will be held 8 a.m.-noon Oct. 17 at the Egypt Fire Company social hall, 4099 Kuhn Lane.

The youth group of Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church, 4331 Main St., Egypt, is now accepting reservations for an eat-in or takeout roast beef lunch scheduled for 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. Oct. 18. The meal includes roast beef, mashed potatoes, two vegetables, roll, butter and dessert.

Additionally, the youth group’s nut roll sale begins Oct. 18. Choices are nut, poppy, lekvar, apricot, raspberry or pumpkin cheese.

Whitehall Lions Club’s annual sweepstakes fundraiser has begun. The drawing will be Oct. 19. Prizes to be awarded are: first prize $500, second prize $400, third prize $300, fourth prize $200 and fifth prize $100.

Names of winners will be published on the website whitehall-lions.org.

Whitehall Lions Club, in cooperation with Whitehall-Coplay Hunger Initiative, will host a free community meal 4-6 p.m. Oct. 20 at Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church.

Feast on spaghetti and meatballs, bread, salad and dessert.

An outdoor fitness class is scheduled for 6:30-7:30 p.m. Oct. 20 at Egypt Memorial Park, 4548 Main St. There is a cost.

The Ironton Rail Trail’s fall historical walk will be held 9 a.m. Oct. 24 at the Whitehall Parkway barn, 4041 Chestnut St. Bring water, a camera and binoculars for this leisurely 7-mile guided walk. The walk is free, and registration is not required.

Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Church, 4456 Main St., will hold its annual basket party 10 a.m.-7 p.m. Oct. 24 and from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Oct. 25. The church has reserved 9 a.m.-10 a.m. Oct. 24 for guests with disabilities.

Baked goods and other food will be available for purchase.
