East Allen OKs lot line conditions extension
At the Aug. 27 East Allen Township Board of Supervisors meeting, supervisors granted an extension of acceptance of conditions for the 6893 Steuben Road lot line adjustment.
Supervisors previously approved resolution 2026-09, granting conditional final plan approval for the Steuben Road lot line adjustment July 9. A request has been made for an extension of the requirement to sign the conditions within 10 days of the receipt of the resolution.
One of the two landowners has been unable to sign until his attorney can review the request. Supervisors granted the extension to sign, which was to expire Sept. 10.
The supervisors also considered a requested modification of the Sunny Slope subdivision sidewalk deferral. There was a long discussion with the supervisors, the township engineer and the township solicitor.
Supervisors wanted the developer to submit further documents and a picture clearly describing the proposed request. Supervisors asked the developer to appear at the Sept. 10 meeting to provide a presentation for supervisors’ review and action.
Supervisors approved a recommendation to advertise a new zoning ordinance for the River Central Multimunicipal Comprehensive Plan, which is a regional group that seeks to conduct land-use planning regionally.
Township Manager Brent Green noted in June 2024 East Allen supervisors approved resolution 2024-17, adopting a joint implementation agreement with the River Central communities to participate in updates to zoning and land development in the region.
Since July 2025, Green said East Allen has been working on a comprehensive rewrite of Chapter 250 of the zoning code of ordinances. Ordinance 2026-01 has been drafted and is ready for supervisors’ consideration.

A resident asked about the regulations governing how to take away or eliminate a dam and if a permit is needed. He referred to a farmer’s informal dam to create a pond to assist with crop irrigation.
After discussion, supervisor Chair Roger Unangst said the board has little influence to answer his questions but will attempt to address them.
