The Northwestern Lehigh field hockey team went 1-2 last week. The Lady Tigers beat Northern Lehigh before falling to Pen Argyl and Palmyra in a nonleague game.
McKenna Church scored two goals against the Bulldogs in a 3-0 Northwestern Lehigh win. The first broke a scoreless tie in the second period when Church took a ball from the baseline sent in by Ella Schmidt and fired it into the goal.
The junior forward also finished out the scoring with a fourth-period goal on an assist from Nora Peterson. In between, Riley Stoudt added an unassisted goal.
The offense has disappeared in the last two games with a 1-0 loss to Pen Argyl and a 6-0 loss at home against Palmyra. In their first three games of the season, the Tigers went undefeated and outscored their opponents 11-0.
The Lady Tigers dropped to 3-2-0 overall and 3-1-0 in the Colonial League this season. The schedule has road games at Palisades and Saucon Valley and a home game against Southern Lehigh this week.
