Rocco, Boo added to JLVC field
The Jefferson Lehigh Valley Classic announced last week that a few more fan favorites will be coming to Lehigh Country Club in a World Golf Hall of Fame member Vijay Singh and fellow major championship winner David Toms to compete in the inaugural edition of the official PGA Tour Champions event taking place the week of Sept. 28-Oct. 4 at Lehigh Country Club.
Boo Weekly and Rocco Mediate were both announced as members of the Jefferson Classic field, while the tournament confirmed that Vijay Singh and David Toms will also compete in the Lehigh Valley.
Weekly was one of the most popular players on the PGA Tour a decade ago. He began his PGA Tour Champions career in August of 2023 and has since recorded 29 top-25 finishes, with 11 inside the top 10. The Florida native is enjoying a breakout season in 2026 with four finishes inside the top five, including two runner-up efforts and his first PGA Tour Champions victory at the Insperity Invitational.
Weekley’s inspired play has earned him the current No. 6 ranking in the Charles Schwab Cup standings. His PGA Tour resume includes three wins, but he is widely known for his standout performance and crowd-pleasing antics at the 2008 Ryder Cup at Valhalla Golf Club that helped lead the U.S. team to victory.
Mediate, 63, became the 16th player in PGA Tour Champions history to win his Tour debut in 2013 at the Allianz Championship. He captured the second title of his rookie campaign 16 starts later at the Shaw Charity Classic and capped off the year with seven top 10s and PGA TOUR Champions Rookie of the Year honors. .
Singh, 63, has recorded five PGA Tour Champions victories since making his senior debut in September of 2013. He enjoyed a breakout season in 2018 with three wins, highlighted by his first senior major title at the SENIOR PLAYERS Championship and a win at the season-ending Charles Schwab Cup Championship. Singh finished a career best seventh in that season’s Charles Schwab Cup standings. The Fiji native’s last PGA Tour Champions victory came in 2023 at The Ally Challenge presented by McLaren.
Toms, 59, has a PGA Tour Champions resume that includes five titles since making his senior debut in 2017. His first victory came at the 2018 U.S. Senior Open Championship, followed by the Ascension Charity Classic in 2021. The Louisiana native’s next two wins came in 2023 when he recorded his first career senior multi-win season, with victories at The Galleri Classic and Cologuard Classic. .
The Jefferson Classic also announced last week details surrounding the tournament’s inaugural EY All Abilities Clinic on Monday, Sept. 28 at Lehigh Country Club from 4:30 p.m.–5:30 p.m. on the driving range.
Together with Jefferson, and thanks to event sponsor Ernst & Young LLP, the tournament has teamed up with the Golf Association of Philadelphia to put on an all-inclusive clinic featuring trained adaptive golf coaches providing instruction to a group of adaptive golfers using a wide array of adaptive golf equipment, plus a special appearance by PGA Tour Champions pro Greg Chalmers.
The 52-year-old Australian’s professional resume includes one PGA Tour win and five international victories.
Adaptive golf is designed to make the sport accessible to individuals with physical, cognitive, sensory, or health challenges through specialized equipment, tailored instruction, and comprehensive programs.
Emphasizing inclusion, empowerment, and skill development, adaptive golf enables players to enjoy golf socially, recreationally, or competitively, and provides physical benefits like improved balance and strength, mental benefits such as enhanced self-esteem, and social benefits through community engagement.
“The Jefferson Lehigh Valley Classic presented by Sodexo is all about giving back to the community and making an impact,” said Nick Ragone, Executive Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer for Jefferson. “We’re pleased that adaptive golf is providing people of all abilities with the tools and training to enjoy the game. Jefferson is proud to be taking a leading role in building awareness of this growing movement in the sport.”
There is still space for participants in the EY All Abilities Clinic. For more information about the Clinic, including how to participate, contact Clare Moser at cmoser@hnssports.com.
