Northampton Area Public Library: Teen event debuts as fall fundraising continues at library

October is shaping up to be an exciting month at Northampton Area Public Library, with opportunities for residents of all ages to support their library, enjoy community traditions and participate in new programs.

The library’s annual online auction concludes Oct. 3, offering bidders the chance to win donated items, experiences and gift certificates while supporting library services.

The popular autumn basket raffle will be 6-8 p.m. Oct. 9 at the Northampton Banquet and Event Center, 1601 Laubach Ave. The event will feature themed baskets, gift certificates, merchandise and other prizes generously donated by local businesses, organizations and community members.

The library’s Double Good Popcorn fundraiser also concludes Oct. 9.

The library is excited to launch Teen Time @ NAPL, a new after-school program beginning 2:45 p.m. Oct. 19. Designed for students in grades 6-12, Teen Time @ NAPL will provide a welcoming space where teens can connect with friends, explore new interests, participate in activities and enjoy a place created just for them.

As NAPL continues working to address the loss of $180,000 in annual funding, community support remains essential. Whether attending a fundraiser, participating in a program, volunteering or helping spread the word, every contribution helps the library continue providing books, technology access, educational programs, outreach services and welcoming spaces for residents throughout the Northampton Area School District.
