Members of the Macungie Ambulance Corps who helped save the life of a man experiencing cardiac arrest were recognized during the Sept. 9 meeting of Alburtis Borough Council.

Chris Greb, representing the ambulance corps, delivered a special presentation honoring the emergency medical services personnel involved in the lifesaving response. Greb has previously appeared before council to provide updates on the organization’s operations and services to borough residents.

Council approved the minutes from its Aug. 26 meeting and authorized payment of the borough’s bills.

Council also received the mayor’s, manager’s, treasurer’s and engineer’s reports, along with a report from the Macungie Ambulance Corps, which was accepted as part of the meeting’s regular business.

During new business, council approved a request to have borough code enforcement officials review concerns involving a utility easement. The review will help determine whether the issues fall within the borough’s code enforcement authority and what action, if any, may be necessary.

The discussion follows topics addressed at council’s Aug. 26 meeting, when Manager Stephen Nemeth reported the Lehigh County Authority was obtaining quotes for an annual closed-circuit television inspection program for the borough’s sewer system. Council also discussed the condition of the borough’s security cameras, which were installed in 2021 and are nearing the end of their expected service life.
