District News: Marching band event to be held

During the Sept. 24 Whitehall High School football game, there will be a mentor night and Marching Zephyr Band event, beginning 7 p.m.

Gockley Elementary School will have its picture day Sept. 25. All students will be photographed, but purchase is optional.

There will be no school for students Sept. 28, and teachers will have a professional development day.

On Oct. 1, Zephyr Elementary School students will have their picture day. All students will be photographed, but purchase is optional.

The local branch of the department, located at 3730 Lehigh St., suite 206, Whitehall, provides immunizations for those who do not have insurance or are underinsured. Appointments are required.

Join the Whitehall-Coplay PTO PLUS! Volunteers are always looking for more awesome helpers to support the schools, and there are plenty of ways for you to get involved. Whether you can lend a hand at events or whip up some delicious baked treats, every bit helps and is appreciated.

If you plan to volunteer on school grounds, the WCSD requires your volunteer clearances on file. Clearances are free to all volunteers. Detailed information about the required clearances can be found on the school district’s human resources page at whitehallcoplay.org/for-families/volunteer-information/clearance-instruction.

Attention, Class of 1977: Save the date for the 50th anniversary celebration, set for 7 p.m. June 2, 2027.

There will be a social get-together, then the Class of 1977 will be honored during the graduation ceremony.
