The Whitehall Zephyr varsity football team will play against the Pleasant Valley High School Bears Sept. 18, with kickoff scheduled for 7 p.m.

The first day of fall, also known as the autumnal equinox, arrives just after 8 p.m. Sept. 22. The bite of cool autumn air will soon come upon us, and the leaves in our community will be falling.

This is a great time to take a stroll on the Ironton Rail Trail to view the changing colors of the leaves and enjoy your favorite pumpkin-flavored treat!

The Whitehall High School boys varsity football team will host the Liberty Hurricanes from Bethlehem at Zephyr Stadium Sept. 24. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. Enjoy a nice autumn evening while you cheer the Zephyrs on to victory!

Class reunions tend to happen during the fall season. One in particular is the Whitehall High School Class of 1986!

The class will celebrate its 40th reunion 6-11 p.m. Oct. 17 with a fun night of food, drink and music at West Coplay Maennerchor, 3326 N. Ruch St.

The IRT will be holding a fall historical walk 9 a.m. Oct. 25, beginning at the barn at 4041 Chestnut St. The duration of the walk is approximately four hours and is a distance of 7 miles.

The pace is leisurely, and there will be stops to view buildings, historical sites and landmarks. Participants should bring water, a camera and binoculars.

No registration is required for this event. The leaders of the hike are Bob Abbott and Ray Bieak.
