The Catasauqua cross country team was in action with the boys falling to Northwestern.

Catty was led by Blake Reed who took 24th with a time of 20:04.4.

Palmerton and Catasauqua traded set wins before the Bombers took the decisive fifth set to earn their first victory of the season, 3-2, in Colonial League action.

Dalainey Keiser, Sam Wolfe and Morgan Wayda all led Palmerton defensively with 20 digs apiece. Keiser also had 12 aces and eight kills, while Wolfe added eight kills and seven aces.

Courtney Carr scored twice in the second half to help Jim Thorpe capture its first victory of the season with a 2-1 Colonial League win over Catasauqua.

Carr accounted for both Olympian goals, while Jim Thorpe goalie Karrya Wolf made two saves. Catasauqua goalie Jess Mankos registered 15 saves.

Catty’s first half goal came from Khloe Davis.

Jim Thorpe jumped out early and held off a late Catasauqua rally to earn a 4-3 Colonial League victory.

Blaze Flyzik scored twice to help the Olympians take a 2-1 lead into halftime.

Teammates Maddox Day and Will Dugan extended the advantage to 4-1 with back-to-back goals to start the second half.

Day and Dugan also both recorded assists in the victory.

The Roughs got goals from Randy Salcedo, Omar Ali and Julius Olivencia.

Bentley Weaver and David Marcado look to stay with the pack during the opening meet of the season.
