The Emmaus High School golf team earned a berth in team districts last season to end the year with some positive momentum.

The Hornets finished the 2025 season with a 14-2 overall record and 13-2 mark against Eastern Pennsylvania Conference opponents.

There were some talented losses to graduation following last season, including Alexis Teichman, who won the girls EPC and District 11 titles, and Kyan DeLong, who finished first in the district qualifier last year and fifth at districts to qualify for states. Seniors Boden Rainford and Ryan Maloney were regulars in the lineup and have graduated.

Some of the top returning golfers include senior Evan Walters V, a two-time PIAA state qualifier, senior Ben Nichols, juniors Anderson Francis, Greyson Schmidt and Ella Bloszinsky and senior Silas Wellhoener. A couple of key newcomers that will look to break into the lineup include junior Max Socci and freshmen Jake Socci, Lucas Baraket, Ian Lamparella, Madden Gigliotti and Olivia Harlacher.

“Evan Walters has a chance for a real special season,” said fifth-year head coach Patrick Birns. “He can contend for both the conference and district titles this season. Our freshmen group will get a lot of starts in the top eight of our lineup and will have a lot of chances to show what they have.”

Some of the top teams in the EPC will include Northampton, Nazareth, Parkland and Liberty.

The Hornets are currently undefeated and opened up their 2026 regular season with 3-0 sweeps of EPC foes over Pocono Mountain East and Northampton.

“I’m excited for the group that we have and for the potential we have for the season ahead,” Birns said. “They have all been working hard on their games and are ready to garner results.”
