The Parkland girls tennis team started the 2026 season with wins in its first two matches.

The Trojans opened the season with a 7-0 win over Northampton on Monday, Aug 24, then beat Easton 6-1 on Friday, Aug. 28.

In the win over Northampton, Sadie Pollard took the No. 1 singles match by a score of 6-0, 6-1. Sonia Lee won the second singles match 6-0, 6-2 and Kiana Mile rolled to a 6-0, 6-0 victory in the third singles match.

In doubles play, Parkland’s Yihan Li and Syrien Alvin won the second singles match 6-1, 6-3. Hannah Schmoyer and Mehek Garg took the third doubles match by a 6-0, 6-1 score, while Sophie Law and Ashley Carl earned a 6-2, 6-0 win in the fourth doubles match. Shavani Shelke and Maheen Jan took the alternate doubles match 8-0 against Northampton.

Against the Red Rovers, Pollard won 6-3, 6-1 in the first singles match. Lee rolled to a 6-0, 6-0 win in the second singles match. Miles earned a 6-1, 6-1 win at third doubles.

Li and Alvin won 6-0, 6-3 in the second doubles match. Law and Carl earned a hard-fought 6-2, 2-6, 1-0 (12-10) win at No. 4 doubles. Shelke and Maheen Jan won the alternate doubles match 8-2.

The defending East Penn Conference and District 11 champion Trojans are one of three Class 3A teams in the district that remained unbeaten heading into this week, along with Emmaus (5-0) and Stroudsburg (5-0).

Parkland is scheduled to take on Stroudsburg Friday and will face Emmaus Sept. 28 in both teams’ regular season finale.
