NWL golf team starts season 7-0

The Northwestern Lehigh golf team stayed unbeaten with wins in its last two matches.

The Tigers beat Salisbury Monday and Saucon Valley last week to improve to 7-0 and set up a battle of unbeaten teams Wednesday when they host Southern Lehigh (8-1 overall; 6-0 Colonial League).

In Monday’s 395-438 win over Salisbury, Northwestern’s Cole Dynda shot 2-under par 69 at Wedgewood, while teammate Mason Malosh (77) also broke 80 in the match. Wagner Stracco (81), Jake Kozlowski (83) and Syler Kern (85) made up the rest of the team’s top five in the match.

Salisbury was led by Chase Yakaitis with a 72. The Falcons had only two players break 90 as Jackson Skeans carded an 80 in the match.

Kern shot 2-over par 74 at Olde Homestead to lead the way in a 390-444 win over Saucon Valley last Wednesday. Dynda carded a 75 in the match, with Malosh (76), Stracco (80) and Kozlowski (85) rounding out the team score.

The Panthers were led by Anthony Albano’s 6-under par 66, while no other Saucon Valley player shot less than 89 in the match.

Wednesday’s match between the Tigers and Southern Lehigh was played after Press deadline.
