The Parkland High School boys golf team had a strong 2025 season. The Trojans finished with a 13-2 overall record, but just missed team districts by one spot.

Even with a talented foursome lost to graduation, second-year head coach Ryan Nunamaker and is excited for the group of players back competing and anticipates bigger things in 2026.

“We return a wealth of experience and leadership this season, and our depth will be one of our greatest strengths,” said Nunamaker. “With several players competing for spots in the starting lineup, competition will be strong throughout the year. Our challenging EPC schedule, [in addition to] independents Southern Lehigh, Notre Dame and Northwestern will prepare us well for postseason play.”

Two All-EPC First Teamers in Landen Benner and Andrew Sundstrom graduated after last season, along with Gabe Chase and John Gerancher, both district qualifiers.

But the Trojans have four district qualifiers and another Eastern Pennsylvania Conference qualifier returning this season. This includes seniors Charles Gold, Jacob Posocco and Cole Yakubecek, juniors Carter Willis and Jacob Rapp, and sophomores Ryan Posocco, Matthew Torres and Tommy Schimmer.

Gold is the leading contributor from last season, finishing fourth at districts and averaging a low of 77.1.

“Charles is an extremely talented golfer with a high ceiling,” Nunamaker said. “He shot a low round of 68 last season. Charles possesses many strengths, and with continued growth in consistency, he is poised for great success this season.”

Ryan Posocco (80.3 average), Rapp (81.0) and Willis (81.3) all were district qualifiers and Torres (82.6) earned a spot at EPCs. Schimmer and Yakubecek both finished with averages of 83.0.

Key newcomers include juniors Chase Klever and Jack Duffy, along with seniors Hayden Karrat and Tyler Brunnabend.

Some of the top teams in the EPC will include Northampton, Nazareth, Emmaus, Parkland and Liberty.

The Trojans began their season this week with a match against Bethlehem Catholic Monday and followed it up a day later against Pocono Mountain East. They compete against Central Catholic Thursday.
