Russell G. Billig
Russell G. Billig, 85, of New Tripoli, died Aug. 22, 2026, at Atrium of Allentown.
He was the loving husband of Margaret A. (Spair) Billig, with whom he shared more than 28 years of marriage.
Born in Lynn Township, he was the son of the late Granville and Florence (Kocher) Billig.
He was a 1959 graduate of Northwestern Lehigh High School in New Tripoli.
He was a lifelong farmer.
He began his farming career on his family’s farm and later worked for Jaindl Farms, where he farmed from 1966 until his retirement.
He was a faithful member of the Lutheran congregation of Jerusalem (Red) Church in Kempton, where he served as an Elder and Deacon.
He was also a member of the Lynnport Fire Company in New Tripoli and the Kempton Community Center.
In addition to his wife, Margaret, he is survived by his sons, Richard (Cathy) Billig of Orefield and Ryan (Joanna) Billig of New Tripoli; his stepson, Douglas P. (Jennifer) Miller, Jr. of Dover, Del.; eight grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his son, Roger Billig; brothers, Arthur, George, and Harold Billig; and stepdaughter, Suzanne P. Miller.
A funeral service was held Sept. 1, at Nester Funeral Home, 8405 Kings Highway, New Tripoli.
Interment followed at Jerusalem (Red) Church Cemetery in Kempton.
Robert Billig, Jr. officiated.
