Union Lutheran Church, Schnecksville, is collecting books for the annual Bookfest, to be held 10 a.m. to noon Sept. 12-13 in the Family Life Center.

Book donations may be dropped off at the church office during office hours, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday through Thursday, beginning Sept. 6.

Books also may be delivered 6 to 9 p.m. Sept. 8 and Sept. 10.

The public is invited to enjoy Music Under the Portico at Union Lutheran 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Aug. 29.

Performers will include Hearts for Music and the ULC Praise Band. Hot dogs and ice cream will be available.

A freewill offering will support the instrumental music program at Trexler Middle School in the Allentown School District.

St. John’s United Church of Christ, 1415 Rising Sun Road, Laurys Station, has dedicated its new digital sign, which will provide a means of communication for neighbors and motorists passing by.

Upcoming events listed on the sign will include Harvest Home on Sept. 20 and the Craft Fair and Quilt Sale on Oct. 10.
