Robert J. Neifert, Jr., 87, of Hometown, died Aug. 23, 2026, at Maple Shade Meadows, Nesquehoning.

He was the husband of the late Kathleen D. Neifert for 18 years.

Born in Quakake, Rush Township, Schuylkill County, he was the son of the late Robert J. and Florence M. (Irwin) Neifert.

He graduated from Tamaqua High School.

After high school he joined the U.S. Army and served from November 1961 to November 1963.

He was a member of Living Stone Fellowship Church, New Tripoli.

He retired from True Value Hardware Distribution Center after 20 years of dedicated service.

Before working at True Value Hardware Distribution Center, he worked at Textile Machine Works in Reading in various positions for 25 years.

He is survived by several nephews including Ronald Seward (Koleen Morgan), Donald Ansbach (Amanda Knepper), James Seward (Diane Seward), Thomas Seward (Holly Seward) and Robert Garber Jr. (Eileen).

He was predeceased in death by one brother Miles Neifert; three sisters Lorraine Ansbach, Thelma DeMatto and Linda Garber.

A graveside service was held Aug. 26, at Ebenezer Cemetery, 7293 Decatur St., New Tripoli.
