The borough of Emmaus will continue celebrating the last weeks of summer with the weekly Emmaus Farmers Market 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. every Sunday in Triangle Park. Stop by for great music, fresh local produce and community. Additionally, the Summer Concert Series on Sunday evenings will continue for a couple remaining weeks. The Emmaus Historical Society and Museum, 218 Main St., is open 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturdays. Stop by for a visit and experience a glimpse into the many facets of past community life. Many of the current displays feature past community celebrations and centennials.

The Emmaus Rotary Club will be manning the Breakfast Hut at the Schaffer/Wendling Pavilion in the Wheels of Time event Aug. 28 to Aug. 30. Volunteers get in free for the day, and there will be many other wonderful food and vendors present at Macungie Memorial Park, 50 N. Poplar St., Macungie.

The Emmaus borough offices will be closed Sept. 7 for Labor Day and Sept. 18 for an employee appreciation picnic. The Emmaus Public Library, 11 E. Main St., will also be closed Sept. 5 and Sept. 7 in observance of Labor Day.

Beginning Sept. 10, the Emmaus Public Library will feature a “Matter of Balance” program that helps older adults reduce their fears of falling by learning to control them. In connection with the Allentown Health Bureau, this program will also set goals for increasing activity levels, encouraging small changes at home to reduce risks and new ways to exercise in order to increase strength and balance. Participants must be able to attend all eight sessions and the sessions will take place 10 a.m. to noon consecutive Thursday mornings in the library’s meeting room through Oct. 29.

On Sept. 12, the borough of Emmaus will host its annual community yard sale 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. All residents are encouraged to participate in this borough-wide event, as no permits are necessary. Should it be needed, the rain date will be the following day, Sept. 13.

The Emmaus Historical Society will hold their monthly program 7 p.m. Sept. 16 at St. John’s Lutheran Church Parish Hall, 501 Chestnut St. The program is titled “The E.M. Maus Burrow Mysteries” and will be presented by artist and author Bob Boehmer. Join them for this unique program that will intertwine Emmaus history with a celebration of literature and creativity. Programs are free and as always, both members and nonmembers are welcome to attend.

The Emmaus Garden Club is channeling the spirit of the 1960s for a bus trip to the New York Botanical Gardens Sept. 23. With a 250-acre garden located in The Bronx, the New York Botanical Gardens is a national historic landmark with beautiful landscapes, rose gardens, a reflecting pool, forest, ponds, lakes, streams and New York City’s only freshwater river. The ticket price includes deluxe motor coach transportation, as well as admission to the grounds and public tram. The Giant Company and its mobile pharmacy team will be supporting an immunization clinic at the Emmaus Public Library 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sept. 26. All ages are welcome and the team will be offering the 2026 — 2027 seasonal flu vaccine, the 2026-2027 season COVID-19 vaccine, pneumonia vaccine, RSV vaccine, shingles vaccine and tetanus booster. Individuals should plan to bring their insurance cards with them and use the online scheduler to schedule an appointment. While appointments are not necessary, they are encouraged.
