Commissioners approve ordinance for liquid fuels reimbursement

At the Aug. 20 meeting of the Lower Macungie Township Board of Commissioners, commissioners approved Ordinance 2026-04, accepting certain township roadways for liquid fuels reimbursement and vacating a portion of one roadway. The action allows the township to receive state liquid fuels funding for eligible roads.

Commissioners also approved a sewage facilities planning module for 3455 Brookside Road, known as the Schantz Farmhouse. The change was prompted by development associated with the Lower Macungie Township Community Center.

Under the proposal, the farmhouse will connect to an existing public sewer main serving the community center. The property’s failed on-lot septic system will be abandoned.
