Trinidad “Trini” (García-Almodóvar) Wingert - educator

Trinidad “Trini” Wingert (García-Almodóvar), 69, died July 23, 2026. Born in Ponce, Puerto Rico, she was the daughter of the late Adrián García Sr. and Ramonita Almodóvar, and the wife of Carl Wingert.

She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Home Economics from the Pontifical Catholic University of Puerto Rico and completed postgraduate studies in Spanish Education at Cedar Crest College. She shared her gifts as an educator at Roberto Clemente Charter School and Lehigh Valley Academy, served adults through the New Choices Program at Northampton Community College and cared for families as a nutritionist with the Women, Infants, and Children Program in Bethlehem and Easton.

She was a member of Holy Infancy Roman Catholic Church in Bethlehem, serving as a catechist for children and adults, was an active member of the Legion of Mary and participated in countless spiritual retreats.

Known as a poet and teacher at heart, Trini wrote hundreds of poems and songs that reflected her love for God, family, Puerto Rico, and life itself. Even as cancer gradually silenced her voice, it never diminished her faith, hope, or love.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by; siblings Carmen, Ramonita, Ramon L., Raúl, Elvin, Rev. Angel L., Militza and Maria del R. García-Almodóvar; and many beloved nieces, nephews, relatives, godchildren, and friends. She was predeceased by her brothers Anselmo Almodóvar and Adrián García Jr.; and her sister Edna García.
