The Moore Township Board of Supervisors meeting July 7 was efficiently completed in brevity. There were two waivers and deferrals approved, and two minor subdivisions were addressed.

The supervisors approved the purchase of new Knox Boxes to assist the fire department on calls to buildings. A Knox Box is a small, heavy-duty, wall-mounted safe that holds property or residential keys. It allows fire departments and emergency medical responders to quickly enter secured buildings or gates during emergencies without resorting to destructive and costly forcible entry.

Building owners place entrance keys, access cards or floor plans inside the box. The box is locked using a high-security lock that can only be opened by a master key carried by local emergency personnel.

In the historical commission report, there was a request for an HVAC installation at the Edelman School. The cost of $12,500 was approved by a supervisor vote of 2-1, with Supervisor Daniel Piorkowski voting against. In previous meetings, Piorkowski questioned the longtime renovations and costs to fully upgrade the one-room schoolhouse.

The Moore Township Land and Environmental Protection Board reported the Pfluegler Farm, totaling about 47 acres, was preserved. There is a developing plan working with Northampton County to preserve the Truscott Farm. There is a plan to use a hotel tax grant to install a pavilion in the Schiavone Preserve.

Township Manager Steve Nowroski said there is a coffee and conversation event with state Sen. Nick Miller, D-14th, at the municipal building. This was held July 22, with the public invited.

Nowroski also reported the supervisors voted to have Keystone Technology install the control system and cameras at the township recreation center.

Resolution 2026-15 was approved to adopt the emergency vehicle operator training policy. All resolutions and ordinances can be located at mooretownship.org.

In the public works department report, it was said road paving is occurring throughout the township throughout the summer.

The Moore Township Police Department report noted there were 332 incidents during June including four arrests: one indecent assault, two simple assaults and one criminal mischief. In the fire and ambulance report, there were 87 fire calls including six fire calls during June. Ambulance calls totaled 113 for June.
