Macungie Memorial Park is a self-supporting park. Volunteers are needed to help with the pool, playground, grounds and repair maintenance and overhead expenses. Volunteers are particularly needed to help with the refreshment stand during the Mustang Car Show Aug. 16 and Wheels of Time Rod and Custom Jamboree Aug. 28-30. Grace Lutheran Church, 28 W. Main St., will offer a free community meal 5-6:30 p.m. Aug. 14 in the fellowship hall. Takeout meals are also available. Call the church office at 610-966-3325 for the menu.

Grace Lutheran Church holds a free food distribution 2-4 p.m. Aug. 12 and Aug. 26 for East Penn School District residents. Signs will be posted with directions for parking and pickup.

Food Trucks in Macungie Park events will take place 5-8 p.m. Aug. 5, 12 and 19 and Sept. 2.

There will be a Cruise Night 2 p.m. Aug. 15 at Macungie Memorial Park, 50 N. Poplar St. Vehicles will start arriving 2 p.m. and the music begins 4 p.m. Refreshments are available. For more information, call 610-966-4289.

There will be an Outdoor Craft Show 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Aug. 16 at Macungie Memorial Park.

The 50th annual Collectors Car Show and Flea Market presented by the First Pennsylvania Mustang Club will be held 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Aug. 16, rain or shine, at Macungie Memorial Park. All makes, models and years are welcome.

Spring Revolution presented by Whips and Sips will be held 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Aug. 23 at the park. The car show will feature in-show competitions, entertainment, food, vendors, and raffles. Proceeds benefit Animal House Project.

The 48th annual Wheels of Time Rod and Custom Jamboree will be held at Macungie Memorial Park Aug. 28-30. The event helps support local charities and the scholarship program for local vo-tech automotive technology graduates. Over 1,500 custom cars and street rods from all over the East Coast will be on display.

Special guests include Steve Darnell from Welder Up Garage & Vegas Rat Rods who will be signing autographs Aug. 28 and 29; Bruce Larson Nitro Start Up who will have shows Aug. 29 and 30 and Dialed Action BMX bike stunt show with shows Aug. 29 and 30. There will be Dorney Park Speedway Memories and the Fast and Furious Charger and The Mummy Machine will be displayed. The Wheels of Time Teeter-Totter returns this year as well as the Friday Car Cruise.

Bands performing include Audio Files, New Normal and Flight Risk Aug. 28 and The Scott Marshal/Highway Souls, Avenue 16 and Flamin’ Dick and the Hot Rods Aug. 29. Activities include a huge flea market, refreshments, bingo, a basket auction, a lumberjack exhibition, and musical entertainment. There will also be kids’ activities such as crafts and games. The show opens 7 a.m. each day and continues until sundown. Musical entertainment continues until 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday. Donations of food items for local food banks will be accepted. New members are welcome to join the Macungie Town Beautification Committee. They meet 6:30 p.m. on the fourth Wednesday of every month at the Macungie Institute, 510 E. Main St.

Macungie Borough Council has public meetings at the Macungie Institute. The next meetings will be 7:30 p.m. Aug. 17 and Sept. 7.

The Macungie Park board of directors will next meet 7 p.m. Sept. 8 in the downstairs of Macungie Memorial Hall.

Lower Lehigh AARP will not meet during the summer. The next meeting is scheduled noon Oct. 8 in the lower level of Macungie Memorial Hall at Macungie Memorial Park.

The Alburtis Seniors will not meet in August.
