Theft

A Takeuchi mini excavator, valued at approximately $100,000, was removed from a construction site in the area of Brookdale Road and Locust Lane, Lower Macungie Township, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The theft was reported by Schlouch Incorporated, Blandon, July 4, according to authorities.

A Bethlehem resident reported their wallet, valued at $200, as stolen at a location in the 6900 block of Hamilton Boulevard, Lower Macungie Township, 4:15 p.m. July 24, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville.

Drug possession

A 34-year-old male, of Allentown, allegedly had a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia while in a vehicle in Camp Olympic Park, 3120 S. Cedar Crest Blvd., Lower Macungie Township, 12:36 a.m. June 20, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The park was closed at the time of the incident, according to authorities.

Scattering rubbish

A 71-year-old male, of Allentown, allegedly dumped household trash multiple times in a dumpster at a business in the 6000 block of Hamilton Boulevard, Lower Macungie Township, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The dumping was reported July 15.

Scam

An Upper Milford Township resident was nearly swindled out of approximately $30,000 when convinced to wire transfer the money after receiving an automated text message concerning a fraudulent charge to their bank account, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The resident’s reply to the automated text generated a call from someone who used scare tactics over several hours to convince the township resident to wire the money. A bank manager intercepted the transaction and helped the Upper Milford Township resident to stop the transfer, according to authorities. The incident was reported July 3.

Harassment

Four people face harassment charges after state police troopers were called to a location along Wood Lane, Lower Macungie Township, for a heated argument at a residence 2:08 p.m. June 12, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville.

Retail theft

A 50-year-old female and an 18-year-old female, both of Allentown, allegedly removed items valued at $1,323.99 from Weis Markets, 3440 Grandview Drive, Lower Macungie Township, in trips to the store between Jan. 22 and July 7, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville.

A 32-year-old male, of Harrisburg and 31-year-old female, of York, were arrested for allegedly removing items with a total value of $842 from retailer Walmart, 1091 Mill Creek Road, Lower Macungie Township, July 19, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville.

Identity theft

A resident of Tuscany Drive, Lower Macungie Township, learned his personal demographic information was used to open a fraudulent home equity line of credit account after receiving correspondence from the bank, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The resident contacted the bank and the account was closed, according to authorities. The incident was reported July 15.
