A 27-year-old male from Allen Township has died, and a 25-year-old male from Philadelphia was criminally charged, after a shooting last week in Allen Township.

Shakair T. Moncrieffe was pronounced dead 2:45 p.m. July 24 in the emergency department at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Muhlenberg, according to a news release from the Lehigh County Coroner’s Office and Forensic Center. The office was notified approximately 3:08 p.m. by the hospital of the death of a gunshot victim.

The autopsy was completed July 27, and the cause of death was determined to be multiple gunshot wounds and the manner of death homicide.

The shooting occurred approximately 1:48 p.m. July 24 in the 1200 block of Old Gate Road. Pennsylvania State Police troopers were dispatched to the scene for a report of a domestic incident, according to a PSP news release.

Moncrieffe was transported from the scene to the hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.

In the release, PSP said Moncrieffe was shot by Kenroy Anthony Cummings, who fled the scene in a 2023 orange Kia Forte.

Troopers observed his vehicle in the vicinity of Race Street and Airport Road, Hanover Township. Cummings fled from troopers when lights and sirens were activated, PSP said. Troopers pursued Cummings, who eventually returned to the scene of the crime. He was then taken into custody without incident and arrested July 25.

Cummings is charged with criminal homicide, a first-degree felony; and fleeing or attempting to elude an officer, a third-degree felony.

Cummings’ preliminary hearing is set for 1:30 p.m. Aug. 6. He is in Northampton County Prison, and bail has been denied.
